I’m on my phone so it’s hard to reply.

When I say scarves I mean colored strips of cloth so you could cut up old tshirts and other scrap fabric. It could be as nice or as thrifty as you want.

Yeah the nail polish one is difficult because of trends and other reasons too. It’s time consuming too. I like it but I feel like it only really works when you’re in specifically queer communities.

But with scarves if you triple knot them that’s a pretty odd thing to-do. Like who triple knots their scarves? Not just anyone. So it’s unlikely you’re gonna run into someone who just decided to triple knot the scarves flagging for stone butch dildo users to her purse.

I think it opens up some doors. Plus butch and other kinds of queer women could use it too conceivably.

POW!

Idea: femme flagging that consists of triple knotting scarves on straps on purses or bags

Actually this could be extended to the bags butch women carry too

Scarves tied toward your front are what you’re looking to get and the ones tied toward the back are what you’re looking to give.

I would do nail polish but I prefer to keep all of my nails black at all times

Thoughts?

I have so many things I want to be I don’t know how to be them all or worse pick which

Let’s stop policing ourselves and each other. Gender is one game that you don’t have to play by anyone else’s rules. The real danger in this ‘gender is a social construct’, ‘abolish gender’ crap is that in gendertopic spaces, anyone who is not subversive enough, or is seen as ‘gender normative’ already fails. We (and I’m guilty of this too) assume that they are being ‘duped’ or buying into gender norms. What the fuck? Are we fighting for gender liberation so that we can tell people how to express themselves? You have no idea where someone else is coming from, or what gender journey has led them where they are today. —

Basically why I don’t get behind most movements in which if you are not subversive enough for the group then you’re automatically cast as the enemy.

I’m really tired of this idea that tests don’t show skillfulness and intelligence.

Yes there are certainly other ways to gauge it but the fact is tests show a persons ability to recall facts under time constraints and work with what knowledge they have within set parameters. In some cases they show how well a person can prepare for a task and devote themselves fully to it.

My friends are what I call hoop jumpers. They’re very good at doing what they’re asked. They can sustain enthusiasm for a task over a long period of time. That’s hard for me.

And sometimes they look at my test scores and kinda scoff like because I can ace tests then I must be set but what I’ve found is that the vast majority of people in the educational system are hoop jumpers. They make hoops for people and determine someone’s intelligence based on their ability to jump through hoops to their liking.

My good test score have done very little for me. AP was a fucking godsend because I probably would have dropped out of college a lot sooner if I hadn’t gone into it with 40 hours of credit. My ACT scores got me a scholarship. But that’s been largely it.

I’m tired of the flack test takers get. Guys it’s my one academic skill and it has not benefited me to a great degree.

The fact remains that far more weight is given to hoop jumping than test taking in the academic system I’m in and it’s frustrating and for some reason I felt the need to rant about it.
